Eve Dale, Natasha Groocock, Ebony Harrison and  Ella Haines from King Edward VII school in Coalville have won the KS4 Girls Leicestershire Schools League title for 2015/16

The girls won their first match in Group 1 against Catmose 4-1 , but then lost to Woodbrook Vale 1-4; unfortunately some schools pulled out which meant that there were only 3 schools in this group. Group 2 had 4 teams with Beauchamp the winners and Leicester High second place .

Woodbrook Vale went through as the winning team from Group 1  and King Ed VII went through as the second team.  King Edward VII were now up against Beauchamp in the semi; it was a close match with King Edward VII coming out as winners 3-2

Woodbrook Vale also won their semi against Leicester High 3-2 which meant King Edward VII had to take on Woodbrook Vale again in the final! It was a very tense match with  Woodbrook Vale going 2-0 up but then King Ed VII put on a  great fight back, playing some of their best badminton all day to win out 3-2.

They will now join Loughborough Grammar (KS4 Boys), Newbridge High (KS3 Boys) and Ibstock Community College (KS3 Girls) in representing Leicestershire at the regional finals on Tuesday 22nd March where they will compete against the winning schools from Lincolnshire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Northamptonshire for the prestige of going on to the National Finals in April!
