Some of the Team Leics younger PC players have been in action in recent weeks as William Sewell and Thomas Platzer took on the Nottingham U13 Bronze tournament on 26th November.  Tom played well throughout winning three of his four single games and qualifying second in his group. Despite playing some fantastic badminton, he missed going through to the quarter finals to the very strong eventual winner.

After missing out on getting through to the next round in a tough group, Will went on to dominate the plate competition winning the final 21-13 and deservedly taking the plate gold.

Tom and Will then partnered up in the doubles, and despite losing both games the boys played well and will take away valuable experience gained in their first U13 tournament together.

William then travelled to Worcestershire to play in the West Midland PC U12 bronze tournament on 10th December. With a small entry William won two of his three singles group games, only losing to the eventual winner. Taking his place in the quarter finals, Will unfortunately couldn’t turn his effort into points and eventually lost 21-18.

It was then the turn of the level doubles, William once again partnering Jack from Warwickshire and  the pair wanted to build upon their successes of recent tournaments of bronze in the U11 English Nationals and in Warwickshire. Due the small entry, it was played as a round robin competition; William and Jack maintained their form, dominating with some fantastic mature doubles play, winning all their games and their elusive gold medal!
